The Queensland Roller Derby League (QRDL) Open Season Tournament was established in 2012 by three leagues; the Brisbane City Rollers (BCR), Coastal Assassins Roller Derby (CARD) and Gold Coast Roller Derby (GCRD).
Tournament structure
The tournament stretches over eight rounds between March and October with A , B and C grade divisions battling for the Grand Final playoffs In November.
The success of the 2012 tournament attracted three more leagues who joined the tournament in 2013, these include North Brisbane Rollers (NBR), Toowoomba City Rollers (TCR) and Sun State Roller Girls (SSRG).
The Open Season Tournament is now well established (2016) and a large part of BCR’s home teams bouting calendar.
